Lipika Nahar, Former Associate Professor, Siddheswari Girls’ College, Dhaka, Bangladesh and the Editor of Pensive Stories, penned down a note about the platform- Pensive Stories.
I, as the Editor of Pensive Stories, bear the responsibility to explain what actually “Pensive” means by and why we have named our platform “Pensive Stories”.
According to dictionary, Pensive is an adjective. It can be defined like this, thinking deeply about something which makes you sad/worried/careless/thoughtless/non-meditative or demotivated.
Handwritten Notes by Lipika Nahar
An example is, how one feels after hearing one after one death news in this Coronavirus Pandemic or how one person stumbles upon a dark incident of his/her childhood while reminiscing the wonderful memories and hurt him/herself very deeply.
Our platform is the place where will share our unspoken sorrows, dark memories, negative feelings, anger, sadness, and reassuring feelings as well to give our mental health a little bit peace.
It can be through stories, poems, statements, short stories, audio messages or video messages with author’s identity or by being anonymous.
Remember, this platform is to express and embrace our feelings and not to solve or judge the matter. But by doing this, we will be able to walk the path with empathy.
Everyday the darkest experience of my life haunts me and always it is grinding me into small fragments, sometimes it seems to me unbearable.Again a strong mental storm blow me to collect the small fragments for making a firm column so that I can tie up small children to that column. Thanks apa for this step.
